Meet Cheryl

Welcome! I wish I could literally invite you into my home right now. I would take you straight to my special room where I have a fireplace (in Florida!) and ONLY 1,000 of my favorite books. I’d serve you a beverage of your choice, but mine would have to be a steaming cup of hazelnut latte - even on a hot summer day. Then the best part happens. You tell me about YOU. You see, I really want to hear about YOUR life. Women listening to women, really listening, is a place where both you and I grow and are changed.

But, since you graciously clicked to my bio page, let me share some of my background with you. I have been involved in female healthcare for over twenty years. I am a Certified Nurse-midwife and Nurse Practitioner. This career has given me a unique window into women’s issues.

I think the “connecting gene” came long before I trained as a midwife. I am the oldest of four sisters.  My earliest memories are of me organizing activities for siblings and neighbor kids. (They called it being bossy back then!) But later in school and community, the desire to help others continued to grow.

My husband of 44 years, my two grown married children and my nine grandchildren will tell you I have the gift of connecting through stories. As a midwife, I would come home from an all-nighter in the hospital and reiterate dramatic tales incorporating color, smells, sounds, emotions, life and death, leaving my captive listeners begging for more. My first fan club soon expanded by word of mouth to friends, co-workers and finally strangers (prefriends). I have graduated in content and purpose, and now speak and write for both medical education seminars and audiences of all sizes, ages and walks of life. I count it an honor and privilege to share in your life and have you share in mine.
